Asking people to remove their shoes upon entering your home will be useful, as well as having those entrance mats. Your capet will stay much clener by doing this because the excess dirt that would accumulate on your mats would not be there. In rainy weather, this is a big help in keeping mud off of your carpeting. Simply set aside a corner by your front door and instruct everyone who enters your home to leave their shoes there once inside. Placin a mat by the door your children you use most is not a bad idea.
